During my years in Tenerife I’ve made many new friends and already in the middle of the 90’s  I got to know Kjell and Helena, who ran a Scandinavian bar in Los Cristianos. Kjell and Helena now live in Chayofa, where Helena’s mother Ulla also spends the winter months. Kjell has built a recording studio in the house, Helena writes in her “office” and her mother enjoys her days as a pensionist.

When they called me one day and told me that they had found a cosy little restaurant in the village VERA DE ERQUES, and invited me for dinner, I promptly accepted.
That Sunday was a great experience for me, an afternoon in a really Canarian village pub. With my photos and a little of the music, I will here try to convey something of the atmosphere.

Tasca José is situated in VERA DE ERQUES, right where the road ends and a little bit further on…past Los Menores, coming from Los Cristianos.
